About Me

A little about me…

Hey there, my name is Ceara and I’m the creator behind Book of Leaves. I’m an actor by trade, working some part-time jobs too, those bills won’t pay themselves!

I grew up in Wexford in the ‘Sunny South East’ of Ireland, surrounded by fields and backroads but I’ve been living in the ever expanding Dublin since 2014. Growing up in the country-side, and having endless animal companions (that’s Buddy pictured with me), instilled a deep connection and appreciation of nature in me. I would constantly be trying to rescue insects and mice from our cats and begging mam to adopt any stray we saw while driving.

I also always hated littering. At age 14, I was sitting in the back of a car with a guy I fancied, after getting chipper. He took his burger out of the bag, rolled down the window, and threw the bag out. Safe to say any feelings I had for him went out the window too!

Since going vegan in 2016, I’ve learned more and more about climate change and various man-made industries that are contributing to the destruction of the world as we know it. I try do my bit for the planet but there’s so much information out there, it can be a bit overwhelming. This podcast is a way to highlight people and businesses that we can all support and learn from to help us live more sustainably. The small things all add up!
